Dr. Chetan Kalal is a Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.

After completing MBBS, Dr. Chetan R Kalal pursued his MD (Medicine) from Seth GS Medical College, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Mumbai. He trained at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi as a Post- Doctoral Fellow (DM) in Hepatology and Transplant Medicine, 2013-2017.

Dr. Chetan Kalal has experience in evaluation and management of cases of acute and chronic liver diseases including evaluation for liver transplantation and post-transplant care, metabolic liver disorders, compensated and decompensated chronic liver disease; upper and lower gastrointestinal bleed, Hepato-pancreato-biliary malignancies; proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy, Side viewing endoscopies , ERCPs, trans jugular and percutaneous liver biopsies, HVPG measurements, paracentesis, thoracocentesis and bedside upper abdominal sonography. He has received training in various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper and lower gastro-intestinal endoscopies, side viewing endoscopies, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopantreatography (ERCP) procedures, and specialized training in hepatic hemodynamic studies which includes measurement of hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) and performing trans jugular liver biopsies (TJLB).

Dr. Kalal held the position of Assistant Professor in Medicine at V K Patil Institute of Medical Sciences (VKPIM), Ahmednagar and was involved in teaching, training and supervision of nursing and post-graduate fellows in the speciality of Medicine. He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), Indian society of Gastroenterology (ISG) and Indian Association for the Study of the Liver (INASL)

Dr. Kalal has published several article including case reports, book chapters and original research papers. He has also presented his work as a subject expert in various international conferences.
