Dr. Rajeev Redkar is a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Paediatric Surgery department of Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Redkar was a meritorious undergraduate with distinction in 7 subjects including Anatomy, Biochemistry and General Surgery and was honoured with an All Round medical student award, the Bahadurji Surgical scholarship for highest marks in General Surgery during his MBBS. Following which, he pursued M.Ch, MS. (Paediatric Surgery) from Bombay University as a recipient of the Post Graduate Merit Scholarship Award, DNB (General Surgery) and FRCS. He is was also awarded the Dr L R Patel Medal for standing first amongst all the candidates at the Examination of the College of Physicians & Surgeons (FCPS) of Bombay in March 1993.
During a global career spanning over three decades, Dr. Redkar has held various positions such as registrar general surgery, Chief resident-Paediatric Surgery and has been a part of renowned institutions such as the KEM Hospital, Mumbai, the Children’s Hospital, Birmingham, London and King’s College Hospital, London. He is a consultant to many reputed hospitals in the city and was a Locum Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at King’s College Hospital, London (1998-2005). He has also held the position of Clinical Lecturer in Paediatric Hepato-biliary Surgery at the King’s College Hospital and University of London.
Dr. Redkar is a member of many global bodies for Surgeons such as Asian Association of Paediatric Surgeons, Association of Surgeons of India, Indian Association of Paediatric Surgeons, British Association of Paediatric Surgeons, Patron of the Indian Education Society and FRCS.
He has published over 40 articles and presented his work in national and international conferences.
