Dr. Tanmay Ulhas Deshpande

Dr. Tanmay Despande is a Consultant at the Department of Medical Genetics at Reliance Swasthya. After graduating, Dr. Deshpande did his M.D. in Paediatrics at Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College, Pune in 2018. Dr. Deshpande is highly experienced in counselling patients with inherited or familial disorders. He provides counselling support for a range of specialties, including OB-GYN, Paediatrics, Neonatology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Oncology, and Orthopaedics. He is proficient in helping patients select the appropriate genetic test—be it a basic karyotype test or whole-genome sequencing—for diagnostic clarification, risk assessment, and personalised therapeutic planning.

At Reliance Swasthya, Dr. Deshpande is in charge of analysing genetic variants and interpreting genetic test reports, which help in post-test counselling and estimating the recurrence risk of genetic disorders, and the planning and interpretation of paediatric and prenatal genetic tests for inherited metabolic disorders, including inborn errors of metabolism.
