Bio:

Dr. Sharan Malipatil is a consultant gastroenterologist and interventional endoscopist with more than a decade of experience, focused on advanced, minimally invasive care for complex pancreato-biliary and luminal disorders. He previously led Interventional Endoscopy at Jagjivan Ram Hospital, Mumbai - strengthening services at a key regional referral centre. Trained at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto (Clinical Fellowship in Therapeutic Interventional Endoscopy) and at Japan’s NHO Kure Medical Centre/Chugoku Cancer Centre (Third-Space Flexible Endoscopy), he holds MBBS, DNB (Medicine) and DM (Gastroenterology). His expertise spans complex ERCP/EUS, third-space endoscopy (ESD, EMR, EFTR), EUS-guided drainage and stenting, palliative endoscopic oncology, and early GI cancer detection using image- and AI-enhanced endoscopy. An active member of ISG, ASGE, WGO and ESGE, he is equally committed to research and training the next generation of endoscopists.
