Dr. Gunadhar Padhi is the Chief Intensivist in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, known for managing complex, high-acuity ICU cases through evidence-based, protocol-driven care. He holds an MD in Anaesthesiology (Sion Hospital) and the Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM), along with advanced fellowships in Critical Care Medicine, ECMO, and Bleeding Management. He has also completed an ECMO Diploma (Paris) and an MBA in Healthcare Administration and Hospital Management, reflecting expertise in both clinical excellence and healthcare leadership.
Dr. Padhi has served as a Senior Consultant at leading hospitals including Apollo Hospital, Nanavati Hospital, and Wockhardt Hospital, and has also been an Assistant Professor at Sion Hospital, contributing to clinical training and mentorship. He is an accredited teacher for IDCCM and DNB Critical Care programmes, and an accredited examiner for both.
He is actively involved in managing high-risk cases, including heart and lung transplants, ECMO, and extracorporeal therapies such as CRRT. Dr. Padhi is a founder member of the Nephro Critical Care Society of India and the Onco Critical Care Society of India, and serves on the communications committee of the Society of Neurocritical Care of India. He also co-founded the Indian Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (Mumbai Chapter). He is the author of Bedside Approaches to Basic and Cardiac Intensive Care and has published in national and international critical care journals.
