Dr. Thakur was invited to Qatar to establish the region’s first Acute Internal Medicine Department at a 960-bed university hospital serving over two million patients. Under his leadership, the hospital was ranked among the Top 100 Worldwide (2023) and became the first international pilot site for the IHI Value Improvement Program. Highlights:

  • Dr. Thakur's work with the UK NHS led to the creation of one of the first integrated Acute Internal Medicine and Ambulatory Care Services. As Head of Acute Medicine at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals, he pioneered the implementation of "Same Day Medical Ambulatory Care" for more than 40 medical conditions, achieving an exceptional same-day discharge rate of 83%. This not only improved patient experience but also reduced costs and removed the need for hospitalization.
  • He established clinical pathways for Same Day Medical Care services for conditions like shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, infections, fever, heart attack, stroke, etc. reshaping medical care across the NHS.
  • His Integrated Medical Care Model based on the principle of “Getting it Right the First Time!” using integration of clinical signs and symptoms of all human organ systems and early intervention with international evidence-based treatment, delivered significant clinical improvements including reduced mortality rates by 33% noted by the CQC (UK).
  • His research in World Neurosurgery and BMJ Simulation demonstrates how translational research directly improves safety, clinical practice, and patient outcomes. These collaborations along with his vast experience in treating chronic medical and lifestyle disorders have shaped his vision for the Health, Lifestyle & Longevity Clinics and Research, where clinical excellence meets preventive science. By integrating precision diagnostics, metabolic profiling, and lifestyle medicine, these clinics address the root causes of chronic illness—empowering patients to achieve sustained improvements in health, vitality, and lifespan.
