Dr. Nilen Shah is a senior orthopaedic surgeon with an extensive expertise of 35+ years in joint replacement surgery. He has performed over 18,000 total joint replacements and has maintained the highest joint replacement surgical volume in Mumbai for over a decade, currently performing approximately 1,600 procedures annually.
He is the pioneer of minimally invasive, muscle-sparing Subvastus knee replacement surgery in India. His original research in pain management, blood conservation strategies and fast-track recovery protocols has contributed significantly to improved perioperative outcomes and early rehabilitation.
Dr. Shah performs primary, revision and partial joint replacements, utilizing a range of advanced navigation and robotic-assisted technologies to enhance surgical precision and clinical outcomes. For the past five years, he has been working alongside his son, Dr. Manan Shah, integrating new age technologies and concepts with his extensive clinical experience.
Dr. Nilen Shah prioritizes knee preservation when possible and performs limb realignment surgeries (osteotomies) for the appropriate patient. Being a keen athlete himself, he aids in the scientific management of sports injuries and keeps athletes healthy and competing at their peak potential.
