Ms Vrunda Sane is an Australian trained and certified genetic counsellor, who has now relocated to Mumbai. Vrunda completed her master's degree in clinical genetics and genetic counselling from Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. In 2020, she obtained the fellowship with the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (FHGSA). She is also registered with the board of genetic counselling India (BGCI).Ms Vrunda Sane is proficient in providing risk assessment based on personal and family history, discussing options for genetic testing, and suggesting potential management options. She has a broad experience in testing for familial cancer syndromes including hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, bowel cancer, polyposis and other rare cancer syndromes. Ms Vrunda Sane has also worked in the areas of preconception genetic counselling and prenatal genetic testing. Patient centred counselling remains her goal when arranging predictive testing for healthy individuals who are risk of a genetic condition such as Huntington disease. She is well aware of the psychological burdens of having a genetic condition diagnosed in a family, and her practice bridges the gap between complex genetic science and patient care, providing both technical guidance and emotional support.
