Dr Gaurav Beswal is a Consultant in Diabetes & Metabolic Diseases at the Endocrinology department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr Beswal graduated from the prestigious G.S. Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai in 2005. He then moved to the UK for Specialist Training where he gained about 7 years of clinical experience. He was successful in getting entry into a UK Specialist Training Program in the first attempt. After training for 4 years, he was awarded the coveted MRCGP (UK). He also gained diverse qualifications in Diabetology, Sexual health, Women’s health, Minor Surgery, etc. He completed additional training courses including: Certificate in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, Certificate in Diabetes Care (Univ. of Warwick, UK) and Diploma in Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare, Royal College, UK. He practiced for more than 2 years in the UK. Dr Beswal decided to move to India in 2013. He spent a year doing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in in Diabetology.
Dr Beswal has treated a large number of people with diabetes – in UK and India. He is adept at personalized Diabetes care using international standards of care. Dr Beswal’s approach is very systematic, personalized and holistic. He makes an effort to know the person and provides a practical treatment plan along with valuable diabetes education.
Dr Beswal is the author of a book chapter on ‘DPP-4 Inhibitors’ in the ‘World Clinics of Diabetology’. Besides being involved in challenging research projects in Diabetes, he has also been a speaker at numerous national and international conferences. He is also a Trainer for Insulin Pump Therapy.
Dr Beswal was actively involved in Clinic Governance in the UK; the audits included Retinal Screening in Diabetes Population, Anticoagulation Monitoring, Prescribing NSAIDs, Management of Community Acquired Pneumonia, and Management of Acute Pancreatitis.
