Dr. Phiroze Soonawalla is a Consultant Urologist at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Phiroze Soonawalla trained in Urology at the KEM Hospital, Mumbai where he did MS (Surgery) then M.Ch. in Urology and DNB in Urology. He further got trained in London at the Institute of Urology and Middlesex Hospitals, where he completed his FRCS. He was appointed as Consultant Transplant Surgeon at Institute of Urology at London from 1993 -95. He, thereafter, returned to Mumbai and has been working as a Consultant Urologist and Transplant surgeon. He is currently attached to several reputed hospitals in Mumbai.
Dr. Soonawalla’s special areas of interest are renal transplant, Uro-Oncolgy and Endo-urology. He has performed over 800 non-scalpel vasectomies across the country and trained doctors for the same and in treatments for infertility, including micro-surgical reconstructions. He has been instrumental in starting Kidney transplant programs in various hospitals in Mumbai and Pune.
He has several publications in various medical journals and has undertaken multiple research projects in his area of interest.
Dr. Soonawalla has also won many awards and honours in his academic and professional career.
