Acupuncture

Overview

The Department of Acupuncture at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital brings together the wisdom of ancient healing and the precision of modern medicine. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture has been practiced for over 2,500 years and is now recognized globally for its effectiveness in treating a wide range of health conditions.

Our acupuncture services are integrated into a comprehensive, patient-centric care model. Using ultra-fine, sterile needles, our trained specialists stimulate specific points on the body to activate the body’s natural healing responses, relieve pain, improve circulation, and restore balance to the body’s vital energy—known as Qi.

Acupuncture is safe, evidence-informed, and endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) for managing conditions such as chronic pain, neurological disorders, infertility, respiratory ailments, and more.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, health is maintained by the balanced flow of Qi (vital energy) through pathways called meridians. Disruptions in this flow can lead to illness. Acupuncture restores harmony by stimulating specific acupoints, rebalancing the body's energy systems.

Modern science suggests that acupuncture may stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissues, increasing blood flow and triggering the release of natural painkillers like endorphins.
