Dr. Prashantha S. Rao is Senior Consultant in Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. He has done his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from Maulana Azad Medical College (New Delhi) following which he worked in the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (New Delhi). He did his liver transplant fellowship also at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (New Delhi). He was a consultant previously at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad & Chennai before joining Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai.
Dr. Prashantha has over 11+ years of experience in the field of HPB surgery & liver transplant. He has worked as a Senior Consultant in HPB Surgery and Liver transplant at premier institutes in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad. His other area of interest is in advancing the field of minimally invasive HPB surgery both laparoscopic and robotic. He is a member of the liver subcommittee of ZTCC, Mumbai and the liver transplant society of India which is the apex body for liver transplants in India. He has multiple publications in international and national journals. At RFH Dr. Prashantha S. Rao would be keen to further develop the work in the field of living and deceased donor liver transplant and minimally invasive HPB surgery.
