Dr. Sadhana Desai is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
After completion of MD in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from Mumbai University, Dr. Sadhana Desai went on to pursue a DGO. She is a Diplomate of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
An honorary Physician to the Governor of Maharashtra, Dr. Desai has been honoured with many awards including “Outstanding Achievement in Assisted Reproductive Technology” by Manipal Association of Clinical Embryologists, “Lifetime Achievement” from Indian fertility society and the “FIGO Award” as recognition for being outstanding woman Obstetrician and Gynaecologist from developing countries (2009).
Dr. Desai is currently an Emeritus Professor, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Institute of Medical Science and has been involved in teaching for the last two decades. She was also a member of FIGO, Advisory Panel in reproductive medicine (2001-2006). She is the founder fellow of Indian Academy of Juvenile & Adolescent Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Indian Association of Gynaecological and Endoscopists and Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists.
Dr. Desai has authored many articles, contributed to 40 chapters, edited 7 books and delivered more than 100 guest lectures both on various national and international platforms as a subject expert. She is has been a peer reviewer for the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology of India since 2000 and has conducted ten training workshops on infertility and assisted reproduction for practicing gynaecologists of India.
