Dr Hardik Jain is a pulmonologist and allergist based in south Mumbai. He has treated patients with a wide variety of respiratory ailments and has a special interest in allergic diseases and sleep disorders. He likes to keep abreast of the latest developments and ever changing guidelines pertaining to his specialty.
After completing his MBBS, he did his MD in Pulmonary Medicine where he underwent extensive training in managing a wide variety of respiratory disorders ranging from common cold to acute respiratory distress syndrome. He also received training in performing procedures like fiberoptic bronchoscopy, bronchoalveolar lavage, transbronchial lung biopsy, pleural fluid aspiration and intercostal drainage tube placement. He completed his MD in 2017 and ranked second in the state for that year.
Thereafter, he did his DNB in Respiratory Medicine from the National Institute of TB and Respiratory Diseases, New Delhi. He then worked at the prestigious KEM Hospital in Mumbai as a Specialty Medical Officer in the Department of Chest Medicine where he encountered patients with the most common to the most unusual lung disorders. He also received his European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine (EDARM) in 2019.
Always interested in Allergy and Airway diseases, he did his Diploma in Allergy and Asthma from the reputed CMC Vellore in collaboration with International Asthma Services, Denver (USA). During his stint there, he learnt to manage a variety of Allergic disorders affecting the nose, eyes, lungs, skin and digestive system, as well as perform relevant diagnostic tests for these disorders.
Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, he has treated over 1000 patients ranging from those having mild disease to critical illness. He has also worked at the Covid ICU in Seven Hills Hospital treating critical patients during the peak of the pandemic.
He is a member of various organisations such as Indian Chest Society (ICS), European Respiratory Society (ERS), Allergy and Asthma Network of India (AANI), European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EACCAI), Indian Association for Bronchology (IAB), World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP), National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Indian Medical Association (IMA).
